NWS to communicate more during severe weather

PLEASANT HILL, Mo. - The National Weather Service office will participate in an effort to get updated information between the time a severe watch is issued and warnings begin.

NWS Meteorologist Brett Williams told KXCV/KRNW that this time frame is known as the watch-warning gap and will be providing different methods of communication including social media and NWS chat.

Williams adds that people would be informed of anything changes during that gap, whether that be the storm will occur earlier or later, or if the threat is evolving.
